Research Paper
Agency Profile

The final project of my Public Relations and Advertising Management class consisted of interviewing a principal at a major agency in Chicago for a feature that will be published on PRSA Chicago's website. I interviewed Doug Hampel of GIbbs and Soell.

Our client for my Research Methods class was Noah's Arc Foundation, a Chicago-based non-profit helping at-risk kids productively channel their energy. We created a survey to get a better idea of how the organization was viewed by the public, and offered ideas how to increase awareness.

During my Research Methods class, we were responsible for choosing a winning Silver Anvil campaign and using the methodology learned in class to recommend how the research could have been conducted more completely and cohesively.

Public Relations Writing

Writing is a critical part of public relations. At DePaul University, we wrote a great deal in every class, from laying out our research to suggesting new goals for our clients and every step in between, throughout each campaign. We were taught to customize our writing style based on our audience, outlet and the tone we wanted to convey. From content analysis reports to press releases to blog posts, a strong grasp on writing concisely and succinctly will help you get your point across that much faster. I carried that knowledge into my public relations and marketing internship as I regularly communicated both internally and externally.
